The OCIS Division is pleased to announce the Junior Faculty Consortium to be held on Friday 7 August 2020 as part of the Academy of Management Annual Meeting. Given that AoM has announced a virtual conference this year, we plan to hold this workshop as a 3-hour online event (the exact time will be announced later).
The purpose of the workshop is to explore strategies and helpful practices for developing successful academic careers. Over the years, the OCIS Junior Faculty Consortium has played a significant role in helping hundreds of scholars develop their careers and build professional relationships. This year’s topics include publication quality and quantity, tenure and promotion, work-life balance, developing and fostering professional relationships, and other topics of interest to pre-tenure faculty.
The confirmed faculty mentors for the 2020 Junior Faculty Consortium are:
- Jennifer Gibbs, University of California, Santa Barbara, organizer
- Kevin Crowston, Syracuse University
- Ola Henfridsson, University of Miami
- Mark Keil, Georgia State University
- Ann Majchrzak, University of Southern California
- Craig Scott, University of Texas at Austin
- Sarah Tracy, Arizona State University
All untenured faculty and post-docs with an interest in information systems, organizational communication, and/or information science are invited to participate, so please make plans to attend.
To register, please send an email to Jennifer Gibbs at firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief cover letter (stating name, current academic institution, year of PhD graduation) and a copy of your current CV. Please register before June 15. Space is limited.
